When I started to work with one young man he had significant anxiety related to literacy. He was resistant to new literacy based tasks and frightened to try anything new. He refused to write and mostly teachers wrote for him. This week we've made HUGE leaps. He's tried and suceeded with new software enabling him to write or type on screen or use assistive tech/speech to text. He has read to 2 books and provided his own written answers to implied and direct reading comprehension questions. We've laughed and been relaxed. There may be more challenges ahead as we introduce new tasks. I am so proud of the growth in this individual. We can't measure this progress in standardised tests.#confidence #read #spell #learning ... See MoreSee Less
