If you’re just starting out on your journey discovering dyslexia or if you’ve been supporting learners of any age for a while now, I’m sure you’ll find something to take-away in the training “Teaching effective reading and spelling skills”.
What will it include?
Part 1
The importance of language & vocabulary. What dyslexia is and the dyslexic profile. Is phonics important? What is phonemic awareness and more. With links to free resources.
Part 2
Understanding how the brain processes information. What impacts on the learner and how specific tasks are important. Co-existing learning differences, including visual and auditory processing. Tips about anxiety, the working memory and speed of processing. How to make learning stick.
Part 3
Over 20 activities to support struggling readers and spellers.
These strategies and techniques will work for all ages, not just primary school students. They have been tried and tested for years and seen successful results for high school and post 16 learners. It even works with age 60+ learners.
