Georgina is the author of CodeBreakers®
Georgina has over 20 years experience as dyslexia tutor and is a member of PATOSS.
Georgina has run an independent practice for 20 years working with students of all ages referred by their family and through both mainstream and non-mainstream schools.
As members of her family have struggled with dyslexia over the years, she is passionate about supporting children and adults with dyslexia, ensuring they maximise their potential and develop literacy skills to enable students to become independent, confident readers and spellers.
Georgina has completed CPD in various overlapping SEN/SPLDs and has a particular interest in Visual Processing (VPD), Auditory Processing (APD), Complex Language Difficulties, Sensory Processing (SPD), Autism (ASD), Pathological Demand (PDA), Dyspraxia and Retained Primitive Reflexes. Whilst Georgina is unable to diagnose additional SPLDs, she does consider key characteristics and presenting behaviour and has an excellent network to sign post and refer to.
Georgina prides herself on her relaxed and friendly, yet professional approach to tuition.

We are pleased to welcome our new tutor at CodeBreakers®. Melissa will be joining CodeBreakers in September 2021.
Melissa and I have been friends for 40 years. Whilst we took different professional paths upon leaving school, we both changed to work in education later in our careers. Melissa initially started working in early years and gained her degree in this field. She has an excellent knowledge of early years childhood development and progressed to assistant manager. She continued to study and became a qualified primary school teacher.
Melissa has now trained to deliver the CodeBreakers® reading and spelling programme and will be offering tuition online.
Although we are good friends, I have always admired Melissa’s professionalism and dedication to her students, she is an excellent teacher. She has first-hand knowledge of neurodiversity and has her own experiences of home education. I know that Melissa will be as passionate as I, ensuring CodeBreakers® is delivered to the same high standard and provide and will provide an excellent tuition service.
CodeBreakers is now offering 1:1 individualised private tuition to anyone, anywhere in the world!
Q&A
What is CodeBreakers?
It is a Dyslexia specific programme. Learners no longer have to rely on what words look like to read and spell them. Learners are taught individual sounds and how to make a written response for them. They are also taught to recognise a group of letters and know what sound they say. Learners are taught to encode and decode words. They can then apply this knowledge to words which contain this sound. We only introduce words with sounds a learner has discovered and continuously add to their knowledge. We structure and deliver the work to help them remember and store the information they are learning. There are lots of opportunities to over learn and it’s delivered in a multi-sensory way to make learning ‘stick’. We also make it fun! Worksheets are bite-sized to ensure learning takes place in small manageable chunks. Best of all it’s at the learner’s pace.
It’s known as a systematic synthetic phonics programme, which is cumulative and structured. It uses multi-sensory strategies to help learn and retain information.

Who can access?
Your child does not need to have a Dyslexia diagnosis to receive tuition. If you’re simply looking to boost your child’s skills or not sure if your child has Dyslexia, you can still book sessions. Simply use the ‘Contact Us’ form. As long as you’re happy using the online tuition software, we can work together. We do encourage younger children to be supported at home by a parent. With prior agreement with a school, we can also deliver CodeBreakers® into your child’s school.
What you’ll receive
A 55 minute 1:1, online, live, individualised Dyslexia tuition session, from the author of CodeBreakers®, using the CodeBreakers® system. The session includes interactive whiteboard where students will complete lessons on the computer, helping them develop typing and intuitive computer skills. You can then save the lesson as a PDF file to your own computer to view or save. *Note, due to increased demand, we are now training appropriately qualified independent teachers/tutors to deliver CodeBreakers®. You might wish to chat to us about other tutors who offer additional areas of expertise, as they may be a good fit for your child also.
Is it easy to use the online software?
Most children are more tech savvy than adults these days. I was very impressed myself that I was able to use the intuitive software very quickly. I was very easy to operate and perform lessons. Most children, of all ages quickly have a good understanding of the easy to use tool bar within the first session. The software used does not need any complicate downloads or installation to your computer. Simply log in at your agreed time to receive your lesson. At the end of the session, you can choose to simply save your document/lesson. You’ll log into the same individual and unique URL/link. It couldn’t be easier or safer.
They system used has a built in webcam and mic meaning your child’s tutor can constantly observe their response to the learning experience and adjust accordingly. Your child can always see the tutor and communicate with them at all times.
What will I need?
All you need is an up-to-date computer with a mic and webcam. If you wish to print your completed lesson, you’ll need occasional access to a printer. Of course, a reliable internet connection is a must.
How do I know this will be right for me, my students or my child?
We can offer a short online demonstration to show how CodeBreakers® works.
How much are sessions?
Weekly, term-time sessions are £45 for 55 mins.
What do I do next?
