It's always lovely to have feedback from parents when they start to spot the changes taking place:"Just wanted to let you know that we’ve seen a change this week is how X is approaching unfamiliar words. There has been a noticeable change in how X is attempting to sound words. X confidence in trying has increased and 9 times out of ten, X got it right by breaking it down and identifying the correct sounds. So we’re really pleased for X, thank you".Using a systematic synthetic phonics programme helps learners to understand how to encode and decode words. Rather than just breaking words down by chance encounter in sentences, using CodeBreakers we show learners a pattern and the sound it makes. This way they are prepared to read/spell words with this sound and make the transition of the sound/pattern to less familiar words.
