Georgina Smith has over 20 years experience as dyslexia tutor and is a member of PATOSS.

Georgina has run an independent practice for 20 years working with students of all ages referred by their family and through both mainstream and non-mainstream schools.

As members of her family have struggled with dyslexia over the years, she is passionate about supporting children and adults with dyslexia, ensuring they maximise their potential and develop literacy skills to enable students to become independent, confident readers and spellers.

Georgina has completed CPD in various overlapping SEN/SPLDs and has a particular interest in Visual Processing (VPD), Auditory Processing (APD), Complex Language Difficulties, Sensory Processing (SPD), Autism (ASD), Pathological Demand (PDA), Dyspraxia and Retained Primitive Reflexes. Whilst Georgina is unable to diagnose additional SPLDs, she does consider key characteristics and presenting behaviour and has an excellent network to sign post and refer to.

Georgina prides herself on her relaxed and friendly, yet professional approach to tuition.

Georgina is not only a warm and friendly Tutor but she’s also extremely knowledgeable and passionate about helping children and adults with Dyslexia. Her approach is methodical, engaging, and (most importantly for our 7-year old son) FUN! In a relatively short period of time, our son has come on incredibly well and we have no doubt that this is due to Georgina and her dedication – Thank you!

Georgina always makes learning engaging and full of games. Tasks are tailored to her needs and pitched at a challenging level. Language has been explained and broken down so that she understands, possibly for the first time. My daughter is now enjoying regular lessons. I can already see improvements, yet it is still very early days. Georgina is very thorough and professional in her approach and for the first time I feel supported and positive about my daughter’s educational journey.
